Prevention of damage
Cockroaches and spider beetles are omnivorous and can damage goods
other than foods, e.g. literature and tapestries. Hide Beetle
larvae can damage leather goods. Clothes moth larvae can damage
textiles.
Legislation
To prevent prosecution by the Environmental Health under prevention
of Damage by Pests Act 1949, Food and Drugs Act 1955, Food Safety
Act 1990 and Food Hygiene (Amendment) Regulations 1990.
